In the quiet village of Nallipalayam, nestled in the heart of Namakkal district, Tamil Nadu. A humble fire was lit in the late 1980s. Not just in the stove, but in the heart of a family. That fire became the beginning of what we know today as Anu’s Bakery | Sweets | Snacks - a brand that spans three generations, built on love, struggle, innovation, and the irresistible aroma of freshly baked buns.
Our roots trace back to a small household led by Late N. Selvaraj, a retired elementary school teacher. During a time when even basic necessities like rice and lentils were hard to come by, he looked at the only thing he had in abundance flour and resilience. With a few bricks, sand, and determination, he built a small stove at home.
That stove didn't just bake bread, it baked hope. What started as survival food soon turned into an entrepreneurial spark. With extra buns in hand, he started sharing them with friends and workers at petrol bunks. Slowly, coconut milk and warm buns began to bring smiles and some much-needed financial stability to the household. Even as a teacher, he never let go of his newfound passion. After school hours, he’d still sell those home-baked items, teaching us the value of hustle, honesty, and serving others.
The passion didn’t stop with one generation. His daughter (S.Anu Radha), with a growing curiosity for the craft, formally studied Bakery & Confectionery. She brought fresh ideas and delightful new recipes to the kitchen, expanding the humble menu to include buns, biscuits, and festive sweets.
By the early 2000s, the family launched Kavita Biscuits, later rebranded as Anuradha Bakery (2005-2006). his son-in-law R. Ragavan took the reins of daily operations. waking up before dawn, preparing the buns, and delivering them shop to shop. It was tough, often heartbreaking, to see the man behind our dreams on his bicycle, making his rounds in sun or rain, but never without a smile.
As the world changed, so did the dreams of the next generation. Yashwanth, the current owner and his grand son, never imagined he'd enter the bakery business. A UPSC aspirant in Chennai, he stumbled into a modern bakery stall that reminded him of home.
He realized something powerful people crave tradition wrapped in modern convenience. And so, Anu’s Bakery was born in 2021. a brand new chapter, built with the wisdom of grandparents, the dedication of parents, and the vision of today’s generation. From one stove in a small home to 3 outlets in Namakkal’s most buzzing locations, the journey has been nothing short of magical.
